Step 1: Register with USA Hockey (Fee varies – see chart to right)
You must register first with USA Hockey and then return to our website to signup. A new USA Hockey number must be obtained each year for each player. View Membership Benefits.

Birth Year Classification

Please note: 6U-14U and High School are open to boys and girls. Based on numbers, we will try to field both a 15U and 19U girls team this season with girls double rostered. Birth years for the 15U will likely range from 2008-2011 and 19U will range from 2003-2011 (giving priority to older girls.)

Travel Requirements

6U is in-house skill development.
8U will have 4 or so jamboree style meet ups that may require some travel.
10U, 12U, 14U, High School + 15U and 19U girls are travel teams. One of the great things about hockey is that it is a team sport. All players matter especially in small towns. Your athletes participation is important and expected from start to finish of their season. Please remember to look ahead at the schedule and plan accordingly.

6U $500 (half season $300)
This is a learn to skate AND play program. Season includes 50+ ice sessions, full equipment for first 20 registrants, 25% off team gear coupon, experienced coaching and an incredible skill building opportunity. You must register with Mile High Mites as well as with our club site to get free gear.

8U $500 (half season $300)
This is a continuation of our learn to skate AND play program. Season includes 50+ ice sessions, practice jersey, 50% discount code to 2 Grunnah Power Skating camps, 6 free weekend clinics with Heidergott Hockey, 3-5 jamboree events across the season, experienced coaching. 25% team gear coupon and an incredible opportunity to push one’s self in a structured and positive environment.

10U $880 (half season $500)
This is a competitive travel level of hockey. Season includes 50+ ice sessions, practice jersey, home and away jersey, 50% discount code to 2 Grunnah Power Skating camps, 5 free weekend clinics with Heidergott Hockey, 16 home/away games + playoffs, experienced coaching, 2 off-ice training sessions per week, 25% team gear coupon and an incredible opportunity to push one’s self in a structured and positive environment. *Pricing does not include any additional tournaments.

12U $1,050 This is a competitive travel level of hockey. Season includes 50+ ice sessions, practice jersey, home and away jersey, 50% discount code to 2 Grunnah Power Skating camps, 5 free weekend clinics with Heidergott Hockey, 18 home/away games + playoffs, experienced coaching, 2 off-ice training sessions per week, 25% team gear coupon and an incredible opportunity to push one’s self in a structured and positive environment. *Pricing does not include any additional tournaments.

14U $1,200 This level promotes healthy competition and focused practice opportunities. Season includes 50+ ice sessions, practice jersey, home and away jersey, 50% discount code to 2 Grunnah Power Skating camps, 5 free weekend clinics with Heidergott Hockey, 20 home/away games + playoffs, experienced coaching, 2 off-ice training session per week, 25% team gear coupon and an incredible opportunity to push one’s self in a structured and positive environment. *Pricing does not include any additional tournaments.

19U Girls $1,200 (half season $700)
This level promotes healthy competition and focused practice opportunities. Season includes 50+ ice sessions, practice jersey, home and away jersey, 50% discount code to 2 Grunnah Power Skating camps, 5 free weekend clinics with Heidergott Hockey, 20 home/away games + playoffs, experienced coaching, 2-3 off-ice training session per week, 25% team gear coupon and an incredible opportunity to push one’s self in a structured and positive environment.

High School in partnership with Durango HS $1,100 This level promotes healthy competition and focused practice opportunities. Season includes 50+ ice sessions, practice jersey, 50% discount code to 2 Grunnah Power Skating camps, 5 free weekend clinics with Heidergott Hockey, experienced coaching, 2 off-ice training session per week, 25% team gear coupon and an incredible opportunity to push one’s self in a structured and positive environment. *Pricing does not include any additional tournaments and DHS activity fee.

More about costs

All age level pricing reflects a roughly 40% discount when considering the real costs of operating our program. Successful fundraising efforts and our incredible volunteers make this happen. Please help when you can and however you can. Payment plans, further scholarships and discounts are available on an as needed basis.

Unlike most other hockey clubs we do not commit to extra tournaments and games beyond league play. Instead we aim to provide our players with opportunities to learn, develop and challenge themselves without leaving town. For the 2023-24 season, we have invested in bringing to Telluride world class skating coach Christian Grunnah. All players 10u and older will have a minimum of 16 sessions working with him during their normal practice times.

Additionally Christian and Telluride hockey director Grayson Fertig will be co-teaching a skating and small games weekend series starting October 29th and running through December 4 that is included in your registration (sign-up required). This season a motivated player could skate with Christian 35+ times, the value is off-the-charts.

About TeamSnap

We will again be leveraging TeamSnap for both registration and communication this coming season. Some of you may be familiar with it from your kids other team sports. TeamSnap is a great tool for easy communication, scheduling, reminders and overall planning.

Coaches and Managers will be able to communicate and coordinate with team members and parents much easier. They will also be able to organize assignments for game volunteers as well. Within TeamSnap we will have scheduling, player availability, chat, reminders, and assignments all built into the mobile app.

When registering you can choose to enter your athlete’s phone and email address to include them in the TeamSnap system so they can know their schedule and take ownership of their plans. If you prefer to only have yourself and another guardian be in the system, you can opt to leave your athletes mobile number off the registration and enter your email address instead of his/hers.

You can enable/disable email notifications in your preferences as well as turn on/off mobile notifications as well.

Once your athlete is added to a team you will get a notification to join on TeamSnap. Be sure to download the Apple or Android app.

Entering your child’s phone and email address gives Telluride Lizard Head Hockey Club permission to communicate with your child for team related messages.
